Stress free, productive meetings at short notice

EDAS have been working with the IT Manager of a fast growing Optical group based in the North of England. His critical issue was to find a way to reduce the time it was taking to deliver new, time-sensitive information bulletins and training courses, to their regional offices within the UK.

He said that this was necessary to save Managers' time, and the expenses necessary for face-to-face meetings.

The time spent travelling meant Managers suffered from stress, with fewer productive hours in which to do their work. Head office executives were frustrated by a lack of current information.

The IT Manager said it was imperative to find a new way to economically connect staff at all offices, often at short notice, and for them to be able to see and hear briefing and training course. He also wanted to be able to record some training meetings so that colleagues unable to attend could view a video recording of the content.

EDAS provided these capabilities using Polycom Videoconferencing units with supplementary Sony cameras and Sony Monitors connecting to a RADVISION MCU over their IP network. This enabled staff in all regional offices to receive new information bulletins and training content as soon as they were available and to record these meetings for colleagues unable to attend.

As a result, the Company achieved significant savings in the cost of executive meetings, a reduction in the implementation time of new announcements, and a substantially increase in the productivity and motivation of all staff.
