Highly effective web press conference for Bertelsmann

InterMedia Solutions (the publishers of Rich Media Collection) worked with the
Creative Director of Bertelsmann Group. His critical issue was that he wanted to communicate simultaneously to all the European Economic Press without the need for a formal press conference.

Bertelsmann traditionally arranged press conferences in a large local venue. These were expensive to organise and, often, due to conflicting appointments, not as well attended, as they would like. The Creative Director said he wanted to organise a web-based conference to all the economic journalists at one time.

InterMedia Solutions provided LiVE-CONTROL (Live Rich Media Encoding Software) running on each Encoder, which enabled them to undertake a live Webcast press conference with synchronised video, PowerPoint slides and graphics. Bertelsmann successfully held this on 27th September 2001 in Berlin. Over 100 journalists attended on-line and this resulted in significant media coverage in the European Economic Press.
