Since
1989, eXodus for Macintosh has been the world's premiere
X server for the Macintosh platform, providing seamless
connectivity between the Macintosh desktop and host-based
X Window applications. Accessing applications on Unix workstations,
as well as many other hosts, couldn't be easier.
eXodus
continues to evolve, increasing the benefits available to
you. The availability of new G3 and G4 Macintosh models
has paved the way for great performance improvements, especially
with complex and demanding X applications. New versions
of the Macintosh system (MacOS 8.x, 9.x, and OS X)
continue to make integration between Macintosh and X more
seamless. Apple's adoption of OpenGL also opens the door
for eXodus users to access a wide variety of sophisticated
3D graphic applications via the GLX extension option. With
support for OpenGL hardware acceleration, the combination
of eXodus and the latest Macintosh technologies compares
favourably to workstations that cost many times the price.
Very much an
Internet-ready and capable product, eXodus has been developed
in close parallel with WebTermX for Windows, and is easily
integrated with corporate web pages. Centrally administered
and deployed, in many environments X applications are launched
from webpages directly into the eXodus application on Macintoshes,
and WebTermX on Windows. eXodus continues to provide innovative
Web-oriented enhancements, offering you the most powerful
X server available for any platform.
